On Thursday 2nd May residents of the New Cheltenham ward will be voting in a by-election for a new South Gloucestershire Councillor. Our Green Party candidate is AJ Coakham. He says:
"I was raised in Downend and returned to live here 9 years ago after spending time living in London and Bristol. I have always had an interest in politics and how it can be found in every area of our lives. The decisions made by politicians affect us all and should therefore be important to us all. Protecting the places we live and the environment has always been important to me but even more so given our current climate emergency. I am also keen to represent people on local issues and fight for social justice. I have two children 13 & 15 at Winterbourne school and a dog and two chickens."
