Councillor, Filton Town Council
Dan Boardman
I am a project manager for a company that uses microalgae to remove pollution from sewage effluent to protect fish in rivers. I have lived in Filton for the past five years and became a Councillor for Filton Town Council in 2021.
Many of the wards within South Glos are rural so the challenges and needs of the residents of Filton and other urban areas on the fringes of Bristol can become overlooked in decisions around transport, housing and the planning of new developments. As a Town Councillor, I have had the opportunity to influence several areas of local policy – the leisure centre development, maintenance of hedgerows, and working to get 100 new trees in Filton. Having been reselected to Filton Town Council, I want to do even more to have positive impacts on our local area and ensure the voices of Filton residents are heard.
