Chris Jackson

My name is Chris Jackson, I am 34 and have lived in Yate for four years. I work as an IT engineer and have served as a member of the armed forces in a reserve capacity for 10 years. I have a wife and two children who go to a local Yate school and attend Rainbows and Guides.

I’ve been a member of the Green Party for two years and have a keen interest in politics at the national and international levels. I feel strongly that we have a duty of care to our environment and to our communities. I was a Labour party member but left after the last general election. I chose the Green Party because of their progressive manifesto and their shared leadership model but, most importantly, their focus on environmental change which has given the party success in many council elections across the UK. I feel that I have joined the party during a time of great momentum and I firmly believe we stand a solid chance to make a difference at the local elections and beyond. I want to take action in my local community and nationally to ensure that my children have a greener safer and more just future. To me, no one else can provide that future better than the Green Party so let us work towards a greener fairer future for the many, not the few.
