Councillor, Bradley Stoke Town Council
James Nelson
I was born in Huntingdon but, having grown up here since I was 18 months old, Bradley Stoke is the only home I have ever known. It’s a town with potential for proper perfection; a nature reserve, quiet streets, amazing community groups and most importantly the kindest people you will ever meet. As a scout and as a proud resident of the town I have seen firsthand what this community is capable of.
But for years now I have seen Conservatives and Labour do barely anything for this town. We get the odd investment here and there, from the M1 bus to a new town Centre. But even these take decades to materialize and seemingly get done quicker just before an election….
I for one am tired of this nonsense. I want better for our town, that’s why I joined the Green party and that’s why I’m standing for them too. The greens believe in doing things differently, in putting people and planet first. And most importantly as a green I can speak freely for my area, without party bosses telling me what to say or vote for.
Because of this I will be a proactive councilor, fighting in our corner for better services and for the issues we all care about. I can work with councillors of all stripes and people across the area in the interests of the town. And I can work openly and transparently to ensure that you know what your town council is doing for you
I will stand up for better funding for community groups, a green new deal for our town, and for a green council working in the interests of Bradley Stoke.
