Next meeting

South Gloucestershire Green Party holds regular meetings for members, supporters and anyone interested in Green issues. Our meetings are normally held on the first Monday of the month in the Swan Pub, Thornbury from 7.30pm, but we also move around South Glos. Car shares are available and encouraged.

For more information, please contact Iain Hamilton (Local Party Contact) by email on or telephone (07496 363372).

Our Area

South Gloucestershire Green Party covers the area of South Gloucestershire, including Filton and Longwell Green in the South of the area up to Hawkesbury Upton and Rockhampton in the North. We cover the 3 Parliamentary Constituencies of Thornbury and Yate, Kingswood, and Filton and Bradley Stoke.

We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates in Parish, Local and General elections.

Join the Green Party

The Green Party is a broad church, and we welcome everyone to become a member or supporter. As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election. For more information, please contact Iain Hamilton or come along to one of our meet ups.

Students or Low Waged: Join the Green Party for just £5 a year!

Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Do you have a specific interest? Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns? We are also running our Green Streets litter picking campaign every month moving around the area - email Tom on for the next pick and more information.

Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills?  Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.

Contact  by email or telephone as above for more information about ways you can get involved.

In the Green Party, we don't have dodgy billionaire donors. We don't take money from big businesses or get funding from huge unions. We're also not in the pockets of media barons. But that means that we do have to ask our supporters and party members to dig deep, to contribute every now and again. If you'd like to make a one off or regular donation, you can do so via direct debit: South Gloucestershire Green Party, Sort: 08-92-99 Acc:65755099 Every penny you donate goes to bringing the much needed Green message to the chambers of South Gloucestershire Council. For more information contact Carron Hamilton, our Treasurer.

Stand for Council

With elected Greens right across the nation and at all levels of government, we're keen to shake up South Gloucestershire Council.

To do this we need lots of enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates. We welcome members to nominate themselves to stand, no matter what their level of political experience, and are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates.

Nominated candidates must be paid-up members of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies, and are passed as candidates by a majority vote of local members.
